13 March 2019 - No Fly Zone - Phoenix Flying Field banned

Postby Parax » Thu Feb 21, 2019 11:44 am

New rules that will prevent flying within 5km of airfields are coming into force on 13th March 2019.

The Phoenix Rotors flying site at A614 Rob Lane is within the no fly zone for Salterford Farm Airfield (GB-0504)
Hence all flying will be prohibited.

Now is the time to protest the 25 times enlargement of no fly zones, to Aviation Minister Liz Sugg, the Deptartment for Transport, and the UK CAA... Fight for your legal right or have it taken away.

Other local clubs are affected too.. Trent RCMFC and British Waterplane will both be banned from using Colwick lakes.

(Area is a square power of radius, the change from 1km to 5km Radius, is 25 times the no fly Area)

Parax you need to get your facts straight before you post crap like that on an open forum. The bmfa web site tells you everything you need to know about this issue. This little private grass strip runway that is nearly 4km away does not count.

It’s not applicable, check this link https://dronesafe.uk/restrictions/

Tell that to Trent RCMFC and British Waterplane.. who both fly out of Colwick lakes.
Feel free not to speak out when it doesn't affect you..
