blade fusion 270

ive brought a second hand fusion 270, ive fitted a new ar636a fusion 270 control unit, set it up as per the manual on a dx8, and it is all over the place when trying to lift off, and is in heading hold constantly with no normal to switch to,my heli knowledge is small as ive not been into helis long, so im at a loss what to do, I carnt get the control unit to go into any of the setup modes in the manual, so im buggered, anybody got any ideas, I am a member so I can meet down the field anytime,
