Our indoor fly-in meetings are held regularly at Kelham Hall near Newark. A little trip for some of us, but always worth it!
Kelham Hall is a stunning Victorian Stately home, which we’ve arranged to fly at regularly, usually twice a month. We hire The Dome, the UKs largest indoor dome, a great space for flying. The hall also has a fully licensed bar.
Indoors we usually fly anything up to about 450 class. You’ll see micro helis, 100 size up to 250s seeing a lot of use. Some of us also dabble in quadcoptors here too. There’s a large outdoor field for the summer months, where we can alternate between small indoor, and full-sized outdoor models. The atmosphere is light hearted and fun, emphasis on the social side of the hobby and gives everyone a chance to bring in their latest helis & gear to share stories about. The price per evening is £5 per person, this pays for the rental of the room. There is ample free parking around the house.
Kelham hall is located near Newark. If travelling from Nottingham, the usual route would be north on the A614, then East on the A617. Kelham hall is on the right, just after you go through Averham.
